I'm going to a christening tomorrow, and this is Charlotte's present.
A bit like the bunnies, the kitty's back is made of leftover quilt squares. These ones are leftover from Charlotte's quilt which was the first one I made. I first saw prairie points on Thimbleanna's blog in a February post - and realised they would make perfect kitty ears. And the tutorials on Primrose Design were an ideal refresher in basic stitches, as I haven't done any embroidery since - primary school?
I had some supervision - wedged in behind me, "helping".
That is Too Cute - the details are amazing, so neat and perfect!
When I learned to knit (a joint effort of Sr. Canice and my Mum, in 1st class) they had us knit cats. Basically two rectangles sewn together, stuffed with old tights, and a ribbon tied approximately around the neck...the definition of old school...
