What a fun day! And there was me thinking that an Inland Revenue course on being self-employed and filling in tax returns wouldn't be a laugh a minute - actually it wasn't bad. Very funny tutors and if I actually manage to earn more than the tax free allowance this year, I'll know who to ring to help me to fill the form in.
Then picked up a stack of goodies from a local freecycler - mostly plus-size clothes in really nice fabrics which can be adapted for WR06 - pics later... and then off to West London to collect Hilary!
I've named her after the road I kept trying to find to get back to the tube. Plus my husband thinks that it's Hilar-ious that I trekked across town to get her. She need some TLC so I'm going to attempt to recover her, I think. She didn't come with a stand but I have a cunning plan, as Christmas comes but once a year. More later!
She's very similary to Julia! I have some sticky stuff spray glue that I'm going to attempt to use to stick down the covering on my girl, hopefully that will work after I've given her a good bath!
The stand is basically just 3 legs that fits into a plastic holder which holds the pole, very simple to recreate I'd think.
Did you get the hem guide with her or did that disappear with the stand?
Hope you have fun fixing her up!
Anna (finally waking up)

Hello Anna!
I stuck the fabric on with floral glue (doesn't bleed through - and I had it in the house...) but the stand is proving to be a bit of a problem. Using the Christmas Tree stand just didn't work... but we have a joiner doing some work on the house at the moment so I'm going to try to convince him to make me a stand! we have decorators in at the moment and everything is all over the place so Hilary has been relocated to the basement until there's some order upstairs... She didn't come with anything as swishy as a hem marker, nothing like your great stash ;-)
