is delightful. Particularly when viewed from the sofa, inside a warm house with no obligations to venture out, though that does mean missing my local knitting group - ah, the hardship. But I decided I had to get out and have a bit of a walk. Fortified with homemade mocha. There's something so satisfying about the velvet crunch of first footsteps on fresh snow. And it's a little territorial, too. My park. Mine.
I have slightly given up on the toe-up socks. Just for the time being! Will try again in the future but they were looking like this picture, right, and then I realised they were supposed to look like this. I had managed the crochet cast on but kept making mistakes during the wrapping of stitches as I wasn't concentrating enough, which is a bit of a lesson in itself. In the past I might just have soldiered on, because they were 'only for me', but now I want them to be right.
Wild with envy at the snow you have. We have not a drop but plenty of rain. My 3 year old is disgusted! How was the trip to Topsy Turvy Land? I am about to have the birthday party for the three year old with just the kiddiwonks - no parents. Think I must be mad but it should be easier with less people to squish in the house.......!

I'm very happy for you - snow girl! No, really I am (she says stuck behind her desk)... :) Your photos are fab! You must tell me what camera you're using.

I was out riding my bicycle to the gym at 7:30 a.m. in the snowstorm, er, slush-storm. If only it had been as idyllic then as it looks in your photos. :)

Your snow looks gret!! Its snowing at the moment here in Dublin but its too wet to stick...ah well, maybe overnight something magical will happen!
I've just started some toe up socks also for the first time. I used Hello Yarn's tutorial about the figure 8 cast on for toe up socks as I had tried it previously using other instructions and failed miserably at it. Hello yarns instructions are very clear and I got them first time! Check it out, it may help you.Good luck

Fantastic fotos of your park. I'm with Ting - I loved being at work today. Just loved it. Happily am at home now. Contemplating toe up socks. Procrastinating as you can see.

Nice to see what Victoria Park looked like, since I was too lazy to venture out that far...
